Since we are Custom Pirates it is only prudent that we hold a contest to celebrate the great gift Bungie bestowed upon us with the forge.

RULES:

1. This new custom must never have been played by our League before and must be your own work. You may customize with friends BUT it is up to you how to split the spoils!

2. The winner is to be decided by the most votes by ONLY members that actually played the maps!

3. This contest is for any combination of a customized map and/or gametype. I.e. CUSTOM map/standard gametype, standard map/CUSTOM gametype, or CUSTOM map/CUSTOM gametype.

4. You must post some form of a description of your custom in this thread by the deadline. This will be your contest entry. The better your description, the better prepared players will be to play your custom which can lead to a more positive experience (and then more votes!). Things to consider:

5. You may use glitched or already altered maps (like from forgehub) as a starting basis BUT you must make pertinent changes. This contest is on your HONOR.

NOTE: If you want to upload your contest entries to your file share because you want the night's ADMIN to start the game OR you may have to miss a night of play that is totally cool. If you need any help doing this let Hljl Krnsk or Renn75 know!

DEADLINES:

1. Wednesday, 12NOV08: Must have you description posted to enter contest.

2. Thursday, 13NOV08: 1st round of play for CustomZ contest starting at 8:30PM (central)

3. Thursday, 20NOV08: 2nd round of play for CustomZ contest starting at 8:30PM (central) and VOTING starts afterwards.

4. Thursday. 27NOV08: VOTING FOR YOUR FAVORITE CUSTOMZ ENDZ; YOU MUST HAVE PLAYED AT LEAST ONE OF THE TWO NIGHTS TO BE ABLE TO VOTE!

Prizes will be drop shipped from our suppliers to the winner so if you win please PM Renn75 your t-shirt size and your mailing address.

The Hunter

You have spent your entire adult life hunting big game. But you want a new challenge. You want something that will fight back. So, you drug and kidnap a commando squad and place them in your specially designed hunting area. You know they are stuck below levels, they can't get out. You are sporting, you have place weapons around the area for them. You are after the challenge.

You are really sporting, you give your prey 30 seconds to start. But not too sporting, check your video monitors to see where they are going.
Once you start the hunt, your radar tells you exactly where they are, even if they try to hide.

You are a member of a crack commando squad. All of a sudden, you find you and your buddies in a tunnel. How do you escape, then you hear it, the screams, and you realize that you have become the hunted! Quick, run. Find what you can. Use your wits to outsmart the hunter. Draw him into your turf. Or do you try to scope him out and shoot him while he attacks you.

5 rounds, six minutes each.

Initial hunter falls to death, and re-spawns 25 seconds later. (Use this time to switch camera views to see your prey)
When a human dies, he becomes a hunter. Hunters have one life
Humans are confined to the interior of Black Out.
Jump between levels using teleporters.
First half the map is littered with shot guns.
There is a room towards the end with sniper rifles.
the hunter can move about the outer portions of the map, but once he enters the hunted's domain, he is stuck there.

Betrayal Points -1

Hunter's motion tracker is enhanced and at 150 meters. It shows all people, even if they crouch or don't move.
Prey's motion tracker only shows team mates

Weapon re-spawn: Shot Guns - 20 seconds. sniper Rifles - 3 minutes.

I came up with a neat election story about getting your candidate to the swing states first, but got sick of election stuff. I will stick to gamplay (no RennBack points for me Crying or Very sad

).

Escort is a team based VIP game. Teams should be 3 - 4 players. Multiple teams are allowed. Like Rocket Race, the goal will be to help your VIP reach the intended destination. The destination will move as soon as a VIP gets there. VIPs earn 7 points for reaching a destination. Teams lose 4 points for letting their VIP die. There is no other scoring. Score 50 to win!

Escort is played on the Pit. Two minor additions were made to the map: there is an air current leading to one of the apartments (but why?? Rolling Eyes

), and both air curents by the turrents are mostly blocked off.

The VIP is a bit weaker than other players (90%), but does give other players a boost (10%) if they are close enough. Players start with shotguns and BRs. They have unlimited ammo. There are no weapons on the map. Grenades and power-ups are in their standard locations.

Changes after the first play:

8 points for arriving at destination
1 point penalty for VIP death
Increased VIP Proximity bonus (200% health, 200% overshield)

I have yet to come up with a better name, so that's what I'm calling my creation for now.

Game type = "Laser Tag Doom"

Description
The map is a variant of Cold Storage, but it is very dark, and very creepy. The only light comes from the dim ambient lighting, and four flares located around the map. Starting weapons are Spartan Lasers and energy swords, with sentinel beams and a flamethrower located throughout the map. Damage is increased to 150%. It is essentially a hide and seek game of Laser Tag, played in almost complete darkness. It's designed as a FFA gametype, though it may work as a Team Slayer game. All players are black, for an added challenge!

I think the map is haunted, too, because as I was forging it all alone in the very dark and gloomy map, there were random motion blips on my radar, even though I was the only one there! It just adds to the creepy Doom-esque atmosphere! With the flood in the background, it actually does resemble a scene from Doom 3!

THIS MAP IS LIKE NOTHING YOU HAVE EVER SEEN BEFORE ON THURSDAYS SO WATCH THIS VIDEO IF YOU WANT TO HAVE ANY IDEA OF WHAT IS GOING ON!

I would like to have a 3 minute walk around (NO KILLING) prior to playing just so everyone has some idea of where everything is.

GAMETYPES: King of the Hill / Slayer / Juggernaut

Highest score to win within a 15 minute time limit:

1 Pt per kill
5 Pts per second in the Hill; Team Summing – so the more people in the hill the more points! i.e. 2 spelunkers in the Hill = 10 pts per second, 3 spelunkers in the Hill = 15 pts per second, etc…

Penalties:

Suicide: 10 Seconds
Betrayal: 15 Seconds

Betrayal + Suicide: 25 Seconds

This map took about 20 hours to complete. Each item you see was held, saved and a re-start to the match at least once….with some items taking as many as 20 saves! What made this difficult was the BIG air currents in the cave and also the proximity of working with the walls.

Here is my map...i don't have any fancy schmancy videos like that Renn guy though...just a screen shot, but i think it is sweet:

Weapons are blow-upy-gun type thingy and rocks!

I couldn't find where any vechicles go.....

but this map has BOTS!!! These bad guys will kill you (don't ask how I got Bots on the map though.....)

This map took me 20 minutes...no haveing to saves or restarts....what a waste of time!

Hope yo like it, if not...well i don't care about you either then!
